City Spectrum Posting Terms

By posting, or submitting items to be posted, information to the City Spectrum website, you agree to the following Terms of Use. We reserve the right to replace, edit or remove any posting to our site as we deem appropriate and/or necessary.

Classified Submissions

1. Ads/Posts made under the Classifieds section of our site shall be submitted under the most appropriate category for the product being offered or requested. If your product or service falls under another appropriate category, you may list it there as well, though you may only advertise the same product or service once per applicable category every 30 days (with the exception of items under the "Sales" category, which are effective for seven days only). Multiple postings, or postings of items under the wrong category will be moved to the proper category or deleted at our discretion. Advertisements which are incomplete or inaccurate in content, and/or which fail to provide at least one method of contacting the advertiser for a response to his/her ad, will be deleted. All advertisements are automatically removed 30 days from the original posting date (seven days for "Sales" listings). To remove your post prior to the expiration date, send us an e-mail with your specific request to sales@cityspectrum.com, or call us during normal business hours at (661) 255-9824.

2. Our Classifieds section is intended primarily for use by local private parties. However, ads/posts from merchants and service businesses may be accepted, providing that the ad/post contains a specific product or service being offered. Our Classifieds section is not intended as a substitute for our paid business advertising plans (paying advertisers may list products and services here within reasonable limitations). 3. Ads/Posts for the sales, trade or exchange of illegal products and/or controlled substances, and/or information regarding such illegal products and substances will be removed from the site without notice to the author.

4. As owner of the website, we make no warranty, express or implied, regarding any product or service offered by sellers or advertisers on this site. Likewise, we make no guarantee that your listing of any product or service on our site will produce the result you seek with regards to your post. We will not, under any circumstance, involve ourselves in any dispute between any buyer or seller of products or services on our site.

General Submissions (Articles, Tips, News, Announcements, Discussion Boards, etc.)

1. All submissions to us, regardless of category to be displayed in, must be made in good faith, be factually accurate, and absent of any instruction which would lead a reasonable person to attempt to perform any unconventional act which may result in personal injury to him/herself, or injury to others. In cases where we find the content of your article to be questionable with regards to these parameters, we reserve the right to preempt your submission with a disclaimer of our own.

2. Ads/Posts which are derogatory, flaming, racial, discriminatory, without merit, promote illegal acts or products, and/or are sexually explicit will be refused or removed from the site without notice to the author. City Spectrum is a family site, therefore rated "G".

3. Articles and photographs submitted to us for posting under any category must be submitted to us in electronic format, otherwise see our Additional Services page. Text documents must be sent as a properly formatted word-processor, HTML, or e-mail-based item, pictures must be pre-scanned and saved in JPEG (.jpg) format. Executable and scripted files sent to us may be rejected without consideration. Articles and pictures may be e-mailed to us electronically or sent on removable IBM-formatted disk via USPS. We do not return disks unless you also include a SASE with your submission. Please keep all articles as short and to-the-point as possible. 4. If you are submitting information as an employee of a company and/or on behalf of a company which you are not owner of, nor are charged with the duties of spokesperson for, you must obtain any permission necessary from your employer regarding disclosure of your company's information to us, if applicable. Any submission to us assumes that you are authorized to disclose said information by your employer.

Privacy & Security Advice

Since we have no control over who views your advertisement or post on City Spectrum, we recommend that you carefully consider how much, and what type of information you disclose about yourself on our website. As a general rule, you should provide only the minimum amount of information necessary to achieve the result you desire. Disclosure of both your first and last name and/or residential street address is not recommended unless absolutely necessary. In addition, mass-marketing firms frequently browse online Classifieds in search of new customers to add to their solicitation lists, particularly where email addresses are used for response to advertisements. To help avoid being "spammed" as a result of your listing, we suggest that you use an alternate email address, (one that is not your primary address) for responses to your ad or post. Many free email, voicemail and even online fax services are available now on the Internet that can provide respondents to your ad or post with an effective means of contacting you without compromising your personal information.
